CapsMan RSSI access-list issue

Tue Aug 25, 2020 7:43 pm

Hello,

I have CapsMan in production, In reviewing the router logs. I am seeing quite a bit of the following error messages. Unsure if actual errors, or just CapsMan doing its job and not letting wireless devices connect that are not meeting min rssi requirement?

84:B8:B8:3D:82:FC@2Ghz-Site8-wAP-1 rejected, forbidden by access-list

also

18:74:2E:AF:0A:D3@5Ghz-Site9-wAP-1-1 disconnected, 4-way handshake timeout

/caps-man access-list
add action=accept allow-signal-out-of-range=10s comment="Accept RSSI -83" disabled=no interface=any signal-range=-83..120 ssid-regexp=""
add action=reject allow-signal-out-of-range=10s comment="Reject RSSI -84" disabled=no interface=any signal-range=-120..-84 ssid-regexp=""

Re: CapsMan RSSI access-list issue  [SOLVED]

I see this error ("4-way handshake timeout") when a Wi-Fi client uses the wrong Wi-Fi password. I also see it occasionally when a device is just out of signal range, as it tries to connect to the Wi-Fi but the signal fades during the handshake process. Lastly, I recently saw a printer trigger this error hundreds of times in a row for unknown reasons.
