Optimize CCR1036 performance

Tue Sep 01, 2020 5:08 pm

Hi guys:
I would like to share a picture about my situation:
Two ccr1036 routing similar amout of traffic but with very different cpu load.
Please take a look:
routers.png
I can show follwing similar behaviour:
  • a_tool->profile: Both routers, shows very even load distribution on 36 cpus, most usage is on routing.
b_firewall: There is no rules at filter nor nat tables.
c_There is one nms (librenms) polling snmp data on both devices every 5 mins.
Then I can list following comparison list:
Router A (left)
  • version 6.46.2
    firewall raw rules:0
    bpg peers:9
    routes: 35 routes.
RouterB (right)
  • version 6.44.5
    firewall raw rules:7
    routes: 62 routes.
    bgp peers: 4
Would like to hear your feedback regarding this issue:
Can those little differences impact so hard on my cpus ?
Is there any other thing to consider ?
What else can I do to keep my router B cpu load at lower values?
