poe on ether5 port with ubiquiti nanostation M5

Mon Sep 07, 2020 10:22 am

hi. iam new in mikrotik.
i recently bought mikrotik RB760igs. it has poe on eter5 port. when i try to use it on my ubiquiti nanostation M5, the led show solid orange and red light blinking at once.
my question is :
1. what that led color meaning?
2. is RB760igs support to powering ubiquiti nanostation m5? (i already read the spec about power both of them, and i think it supported each other. 1A 24V)
3. is RB706igs need aditional setting to use the POE on ether5 port?
4. since that ether5 port contain POE, is it safe to use it in normal way?
iam sorry for asking such that question.
thank you.

red blinking seems to indicate a short circuit.

i think its 24V and 0,5A needed but yes, it should work.

how long is the network cable you use? try to connect the AP with a cable that is at least 10 meters long.
with short cables I sometimes had some problems using POE.

normally, there is an auto-detection, wether the devices needs poe or not.
but you can also explicitely switch poe off on that port.
