Trying to log into my router through 192.168.1.1 isn't working.

I am trying to change some setting on my WiFi, but when I put in my IP address (192.168.1.1), it asks for credentials, but then says "Your connection to this site is not private". Because of this, I cant put in my credentials and proceed. I tried https://192.168.1.1/ aswell, as opposed to http:/192.168.1.1/, but that just gave me a "This site cannot be reached" error page. What can I do? I have my login credentials, but I cant seem to get past the login screen!

are you sure that your default gateway is the 192.168.1.1?
Mikrotik's DG is 192.168.88.1
If you're sure, then in the screen saying: "your connection isn't private", hit "proceed anyway"!

This is pretty much usual behaviour of your browser when it detects that it should transmit any kind of password over unencrypted connection. When connecting to your router over home LAN you should simply ignore this warning because (hopefully) there is no one eavesdropping on you. Browser warning when connecting unencrypted to some service over internet is very welcome indeed.
