please. I am lost

Tue Jul 17, 2007 7:05 pm

My little problem is that I dont understand the Upgrading process.
I mean.
I have some Router boards working with 2.9.38 and some with 2.9.29 versions.
The License Window says to be upgradeable up to version 3.x - what does it mean?
This UPGRADING is free for charge? I have to buy a new license to upgrade my 2.9.38 to 2.9.44?
If I dont need a new license... What sould I do after upgrade? because an ASKING FOR KEY "WINDOWS" APPEARS!

I will appreciate any answer from you.
THANKS and SORRY

If the router is licensed and shows upgradeable to V3XX then upgrades are free...

Did you load options (files) that are not supported by your license level?

If not you may wisk to contact support about this as it looks like the LIC file / string may not have processed correctly.

Put new mt firmware (npk files) to router (ftp A.B.C.D), reboot router and check version :)

if it says upgradeable until v3.xx then
1) you can update your software to whatever version comes out in 2.9 version
2) when stable v3.0 and other v3.xx comes out you will be able to upgrade/update your system
3) when v4 comes out, you wont be able to upgrade your routerOS further

now do as arE suggested, upload npk files (or one integratet routeros npk file) and reboot the router to upgrade it to newer version
