Bridge & Traffic Shaping

Tue Jul 17, 2007 8:23 pm

Hi All,

Just set up Mk as a bridge to shape the bandwidth for my network, everythings working fine for my ip based clients but PPPOE clients are not included or showing under connections also.
Want the entire network to come under it so i can prioritise http over p2p.
Any help would be great

Thanks
Kev

RouterOS has no abilty to look in PPPoE and has no deep packet inspection feature, what you can limit is only IP based traffic.

Have you tried 3.18 ?

That has something in the changelog about exactly fixing that.

Correct marlow, with version 3.18 it is possible, I just put traffic shaper (bridge mode) between PPPoE-Server and PPPoE-Client, and all my mangle and queue tree rules are matching correctly, in the earlier versions it was not possible.

Regards.
