KNOT looks interesting!

5G is not relevant in my country unfortunally, it's just too expensive for regular usage. Also having a public IP is hideously expensive (and you have to be a business customer)

Will SDVoE be integrated in current products, or result in a new line of products?

Great news! Great work on the 5G and IOT stuff lately.

I was hoping for some more love and update on routeros v7 and more CCR routers with more than 4 or more SFP+ interfaces :)

It is being integrated into current product line, as MikroTik offers feature rich OS (even two!) for switches. More information is available on the project page,
https://www.av-iq.com/avcat/ctl1642/ind ... otikls-sia
But RouterOS/SwOS features are available on all related MikroTik switch devices.

I personally hope that MQTT (from the KNOT) finds entry into every MikroTik device. There are so many things this would be useful for.

The combination that meets the 5Gbps rate is B1(256QAM,400Mbps)+B3(256QAM,400Mbps)_n78(256QAM, 2.1Gbps)_n79(256QAM,2.1Gbps).

Does this SFP Module show correct negotiation results (unlike older modules) or do we have to do speedtests to see line problems?

Good on you for joining the SDVOE alliance. We really require more standards based networking when it comes to av over ip.I know there's a huge pushback against Netgear in the industry but they've taken this part of networking very seriously and I see their av over ip stuff everywhere I go.I'm sure you will find traction in this area if you tackle it properly.

I hope you guys have learnt your lesson with the new surge suppressor. The old one had water leakage issues and would cause cable corrosion over time.I've more or less replaced all of them at customer sites with a different vendors solution.

KNOT looks interesting. Wish it supported Zigbee. I feel like it's the VHS/Betamax issue all over again - Zigbee isn't technically the best, but it seems to be the most common protocol for home automation.

We still wait for SXTGR & LHGGR & LDFGR with m.2 slot for MikroTik R11mL-cards or directly Quectel m.2 modules. External antenna integrated with RB m.2 is a key here.
This is our option to create a strategy VS Starlink !

In Sweden?
I didn't read all the small print in the contract, but Finnish operator Elisa sells contracts with unlimited roaming data in all Nordic countries. Monthly fee is around 30€ for 5G 300M contract. All their contracts include public (but non-static) IP.
I have no idea about their roaming partner nor their roaming partner's 5G network in any part of Sweden though.

unfortunately in my region the legislation and the 5g license cost is unviable and totally impractical (south america), it is much cheaper to work with gpon than with 5g. if at least mikrotik launched a gpon line because here everyone is using gpon

It's basically the same price as 4G/LTE. 45€ for 120GB/mo with CGNAT-address, not even IPv6.

Can we get TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) support on 802.11? It will help compete a bit against Ubiquiti

You should watch the video about KNOT. It's not a home device, and supports protocols used by industrial installations, hospitals etc. Zigbee is not supported, also there is no HomeKit or GUI for management

If you need 5G or custom IOT... good. Otherwise this newsletter is a big disappointment.
No mention of WIFI6E? No routing/CRS products? No 60GHz stuff (Where's the Terragraph vaporware??)? Anything about ROS7? **CRICKETS**
All we get is really bad photoshop of camera and SXT LTE on a pole and cute photo of totally frozen WIFI antennas - that's very symbolic to the state of WIFI protocols and standards on Mikrotik in general! Well played... maybe some Mikrotik insider is trying to send us a message.

Disappointed? You don't have to wait for anything. You just take the best from each manufacturer.

Hi, in the video it is mentioned that version with LoRa is expected, which is nice. Do you also plan to add m-bus along or instead of modbus?

That sure is annoying! They are working on it in RouterOS v7 but unfortunately the development pace is not very quick, it may take another year before we can deploy it in production. But I sure would love to have this.

Mikrotik, please provide full technical specification new revision RBGESP surge protector (https://mikrotik.com/product/rbgesp#fnd ... ifications).
Did the change only affect improved IP67 weatherproof enclosure?
P.S. The GPeR IP67 case should be purchased separately, depending on the installation (outdoor or indoor). I already have a warehouse with power supplies, poe, brackets (and even these IP67 case), what should I do with them all if they come in all kits. However, aunts do not buy such things on the market. Specialists are able to complete the necessary themselves.

RogerWilco say:

mikrotik.com > Hardware > Support & Downloads https://mikrotik.com/product/chateau_5g#fndtn-downloads > 5G modem options https://i.mt.lv/cdn/product_files/Chate ... 210344.pdf
you have that differ versions.
For now that Chateau 5G is for ISP / MNO .
For end-user it will be in next Q2-4 of this year, we wait.
We still wait for SXTGR & LHGGR & LDFGR with m.2 slot for MikroTik R11mL-cards or directly Quectel m.2 modules.

Hi,
Is there a way to use this Mikrotik KNOT device as Bluetooth PAN gateway for Internet access (e.g. short range Internet access for tablets through bluetooth)?
If not, does Mikrotik has some plans to implement this feature in the future for this or some other device?

Yes, they have a wifi, but nowadays wifi is also used for location tracking and requires more power.
It would be nice to have bluetooth PAN option.

From your question I guess the answer is probably no?

What about a portable battery powered LTE router? Something like Netgear Nighthawk M1 series but slower, with less battery life but with a long security patching support cycle Mikrotiks are famous for. I guess some of the routers can get power from a powerbank already, but we need something more portable and energy efficient.

I hope to see new RBM11G revision or new wAP R ac revision have:
  • m.2 slot@USB3.1 bus or internal faster then USB - currently we have small count device with mPCIe at USB3.0 who are greate to migrate at 5G
  • SFP+ port - 10Gb link is greate to receive even newer lte modules then now are as cat.20
  • 2x 1GbE (first Poe-IN, Second PoE-In/Out) - 2x PoE In as backup... perfect, someone want power a CCTV :)
  • AutoMotive plug for battery support. - small PV to power that unit.
This give us to create a city 5G CCTV monitoring system, very flexible option.

Product brochure, available for download here, says that two fibre strands are needed (connector type: Dual LC UPC). Picture implies that as well. Quick look at products list gives only S+2332LC10D to be able to work over single fibre strand. I'm sure there are plenty of compatible 3rd party DFP modules working over single fibre strand available.
