Hello,

from ver.2.9.45 I haven't found RealTek RTL8169 Gigabit Ethernet driver anymore.

Why has that driver been removed ?

Is it possible for the driver to be installed/added back ?

Thank you,
D.

there are no "drivers". everything comes integrated. just plug in the card and see if it works, this specific model should work in ROSv3, so try that version

we don't remove anything.

Thank you for answer, appreciate it so much.

V3.0 is able to recognize the ethernet card but reason why I cann't still use v3.0 is stability problem with BGP routing protocol with 2 or more BGP uplinks/peers. I have no problems with ver.2.9.xx (<= 2.9.45) - such a router has been working for months without serious problems handling traffic between 50Mb-95Mb !!!

Bellow is a network configuration :

# DRIVER
0 D RealTek RTL8169 Gigabit Ethernet
1 D RealTek 8139
2 D VIA Rhine I/II Fast Ethernet

whereas (0) and (1) are regular adapters and (2) is a 4-port card.

So, if a do a new installation of 2.9.45 on above mentioned PC board, there is no more RealTek RTL8169 Gigabit Ethernet (line (1) showed above disappears). On ver.3.0 everything works as expected on the driver level.

Thank you again,
D.

same here!

tho i'm using 2.9.27

does anyone know if there's a solution to that?

i tried 4 ethernet cards so far!!!!
d-link 550TX (i think) drops packages like mad, 2 weren't recognized, one 10Mbps realtek can't be enabled (reports failure (6), and the newest (linksys but actually it's got realted 8169 chip) isn't recognized...
