Good day,
Due to the current situation most our staff is in home office and it is putting a lot of stress on our main router - hAP ac (RouterBOARD 962UiGS-5HacT2HnT), ROS 6.48.5. At the moment there are five L2TP/IPSEC clients connected to the router and the cpu usage jumping from a mere 10% to 100% and it remains so for a few minutes. According to the profiling tool, most of the cpu usage is caused by encryption. I have not seen any reboot or other issues at the moment but I fear that if the client count increases it will cause problems. I know that hAP ac does not have hardware acceleration and at the moment all clients are using cbc(aes) + hmac(sha1) encryption.
Should I look at upgrading to a hap ac3 ? At the moment the hAP ac acts as a CAPsMAN server (5 connected wAP ac's), L2TP/IPSEC server (two static tunnels, multiple on-demand)
Thanks!
EDIT: After replacing the hAP ac with hAP ac3 the issue has been resolved.
