ha-mikrotik on 6.49 or above

Hi,
EDIT: apologies, getting muddled between different issues. This one is only ROS 7, not 6.49.
Has anyone had any joy running the ha-mikrotik scripts on v6.49 or above? I have it running (seemingly) fine on 6.48.5 (long-term) but on 6.49 (stable), 7.0.5 (stable - as shipped on some RB5009 I have) and 7.1rc5 (development) the scripts fail to run, regardless of device. It looks to be getting stuck at the escaped characters, e.g. \" and \$, when a script is imported and I have confirmed the same problem with some simpler scripts. For example, I can copy a script in manually and it will appear to run fine but if a script is required to import itself, as in dropping in a xxx.auto.rsc file, the import fails at the escaped characters.
Is there a workaround for this and/or is Mikrotik working on fixing this?
Thanks.
