USB LTE modem doesn’t work

Hello,
I have been using two USB LTE modems (Huawei E3372) for quite some time. In ROS 6, it worked without any (major) problem. At the moment, I use it on hAP ac lite TC with ROS 6.48.5 and hAP ac lite with ROS 6.47.10. Both USB modems have been working on both APs for years.
I have upgraded one other hAP ac lite to ROS 7.1 and tried to use one of the modems. Although the modem seems to be working PPP connection is only “link established”, but I can’t make it “connected”. I have even fresh installed an old RB951 and tried the modem on default configuration, also with no luck.
I tried to find a reason for not connecting in a log, but I don’t understand what is (not) happening. (I have no clue what LCP timer is and why it times out sending ConfReq.)
I would be grateful for any advice.
Martin
