I have had two incidences now where after a (planned) router reboot the IPsec VPNs did not come online. The one way I was able to do that was to power cycle the router then they did come back. This is especially cumbersome if the router is a couple hundred kilometers from where I am and the only way into that router is via a VPN.

Other than the VPNs the router seemed to be working fine.

I spent 4 hours on Friday finding an error in my L2TP/IpSec Setup in Mikrotik which stopped working out of the blue until i realised to reboot my cable modem after which the VPN was instantly working again.

Obviously this beavior is pita
