Remove AAAA from DDNS results?

Hi all,

I was playing with IPv6 on my device sometime ago, currently running RouterOS v6.49.2, but this has been updated since I last looked at this.

I had setup a TunnelBroker 6to4 connection and gone through configuration on my router. I decided not to keep it, so reverted back and removed the IPv6 packages.

I use the DDNS services via sn.mynetname.net, which works fine for IPv4, but I still get an AAAA record when I query the hostname. The webconfig for DDNS shows IPv4 configured and no mention of IPv6. I don't have any IPv6 addresses configured on any interfaces on this device.

My guess is that if I can clear that AAAA record from mynetname.net it wouldn't come back again (the A record works fine), but I can't see how this would be achieved.

Thanks, Sepp

I know it is a gravedigging, but this topic came up as first one on google when I searched for the same...
I had the same issue and managed to remove my AAAA record by:
  1. confirm you don't have any ipv6 addresses (especially not internet-facing one)
  2. disable DDNS, wait a little bit,
  3. force update, wait a little bit,
  4. confirm both A and AAAA records are gone (TTL should be only 60 sec so expect 1-2 minutes of outage)
  5. enable DDNS
  6. confirm that A now exists again but AAAA is still empty.
