2 ISP WAN for failover auto or manual

I am considering having 2 ISP so i can failover if one ISP is out
Where can i find documentation on this
It is fine if failover will be manual i dont mind
I actually prefer manual and second ISP will be like a secondary and will only be used if and only if first ISP is down
Keep in mind since i have static ip from each provider
how will that work? does this mean i have to get same cidr block size from both?
Where do i start with this setup?

Disagree with erlinden, that reference is horrible because it uses mangling which is NOT required for most situations.
I dont understand, he is usually not that cruel?

A simple way to do manual failover would be to create two routes to 0.0.0.0/0, one via your preferred ISP with distance=1 and one via your backup ISP with distance=2. To manually failover, disable the first route using Winbox or whatever you prefer.
I have a dual Internet failover with LTE as the main Internet, and ADSL as backup. Very occasionally the LTE is a little flakey but not enough to failover, in those cases I do as suggested above, disable the route via LTE until it behaves itself again.

I think i have a good idea about this
I think it is better to have 2x routers CCR2004
and then have the second ISP WAN on the 2nd router and prepare the config so it is ready for things to switch over.
So when there is issue with ISP #1, i just unplug switch and plug switch to CCR router #2
and when i want to switch back just unplug switch from ISDP #2 back to ISP #1
I think this is a better approach. Idea is to setup all static ips and everything.
So the switch will be simple and straight forward
Anyone tries this setup?

So guys i plan on getting 2 routers
Connect each to the 2 different ISPs
So CCR 1 will connect to ISP router 1 AND CCR 2 will connect to ISP router 2
Now is there a way i can route traffic between the routers using local network?
So i dont have to go via internet when using VPN tunnel for example?
Looking for a simple setup, nothing too complex

Do you have static IP setup?
That is the issue for me, with static IPs, not so easy

You are drunk?
With same VPN you can decide from what one connection you remotely connect the device (just use the reachable Public IP address)
(with automatic scripting or failover the included DDNS on routerboard can set the rigth IP!!!...)
and (ignoring automatic scripting as your wish) maually launch script for invert active route (invert distance)
or manually disable/enable the routes

That is the issue for me, with static IPs, not so easy

On example, gateway1 = 2.3.4.5, gateway2 = 6.7.8.9
This is for v6, for v7 is similar.
