Hello everyone, was wondering if anyone came across this and solved it

Yesterday I opened up a box with a CRS328-24P-4S+RM which I was “saving” in case some project came up.

Well, to my surprise the switch does not deliver PoE power, and the PoE tab is missing from the interfaces. I’ve tried updating as well as netinstalling but no luck. I’ve had this happen to me with a PowerBox Pro in the past which was never fixed but I didn’t mind that much, but the CRS is a significantly more expensive piece of equipment and unavailable to purchase right now.

Of course I will send it back to my distributor (don’t remember though how long ago I purchased it though) but was wondering if anyone has a quick fix.

There are three places that Ethernet interfaces are listed in WinBox:

• Bridge → Ports
• Switch → Port
• Interfaces → Interface

Only the last one shows a PoE configuration tab on the individual ports.

What do you get from a "/interface ethernet poe print" command?

I have a 328 that is supposed to be delivered today. I will be logging into it ASAP and looking at interfaces.

Winbox 3.35, routerOS 6.47.10, of course looking in the interfaces window. As I've mentioned it has happened before with a PoerBox Pro. I've tried upgrading, downgrading as well as netinstall... nothing worked. I guess bad firmware from mamma Mikrotik. It's been RMA'd anyway, since (THANK GOD) was still unter warranty

That release is a year old. Shouldn’t you try the current long-term stable version before returning it, at least?

The unit I have powered up several WAPs right out of the box. Updated to router OS to 7, and one of the WAPs didn't power on. Updated the board... Came up on the next reboot.

Just to be on the safe side, did you tried to netinstall it? Otherwise , RMA It and call it a day.

That assumes you can actually get a replacement.
