Atheros card and Ad-hoc mode

Hi guys!

i've now trying to put an one atheros card in ad-hoc but when i do "set wlanX mode=ad-hoc" i've notice that there arent ad-hoc in mode list..

it's normal this?
is possible to put an interface in ad-hoc mode?


i use Ros 3.0rc6

I think you're looking for mode=bridge or ap-bridge. ad-hoc is not actually mode of wireless, it describes the way you are establishing the connection (essentially in terms of wireless it means a peer to peer type connection with no central access point)

ap-bridge = regular access point
bridge = access point with max of 1 client
station = regular wireless client
