Help me understand: PublicIP and LocalIP

Fri Oct 26, 2007 1:40 pm

This is my nettwork

-ISP-PTP-PTP-Router-Switch-AP-Clients

Im getting a subnet /24 from them
Then i got a local net for all the ap's and clients routerbords on /24 subnet

How do i route the public subnet /24 to my clients?

I have never done this, i have route local nettworks before but not public.
What have i do to one the router?
What have i do to on the clients routerbord? (Iknow that i can use WDS so when they connect to the router its like they are on the switch but then they can get access to all my public network, Do i use ARP? or?)

Tell your ISP to route your /24 to a public on your router. You will most likely need a /30 from them, one for their router across your PTP links, and one for your router. The IP for your router, is where your /24 should be pointed to. Then behind your router, you can do whatever you want with your /24 of IPs.
