RBD53GR-5HacD2HnD

Fri Jun 30, 2023 4:20 am

I have a RBD53GR-5HacD2HnD. It is impossible to put a NPK file into the file folder, reboot and expect this unit to come back alive after an attempted upgrade via Winbox. It completely freezes up. The only way to get this unit to respond after an upgrade attempt is to do a reset, thereafter I am force to use Netinstall. Netinstall works, however, had I not had a backup file I would have been left starting over with my setting. I have had to go through this for the last 4 upgrades. Literally just got done installing 7.10.1. This time I skipped upgrading the firmware in the RouterBOARD section.

So, I would like to know how to get back to a normal upgrade process using Winbox without having to rely on the Netinstaller and a backup file. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can look into to fix it?

NOTE: I would be happy to trade back this unit for one that works!

Thank you.

Try to put NPK file into Winbox but not inside of file window.

What npk are you trying to put on that device ?

I have a couple of AC3 installed (at home and for a customer) and I never saw the behavior you describe.
Unless you're trying to put something which doesn't belong there ?
