Problem with L2TP, PPTP connection is not resolved.

Som my l2tp connection doesn't connect to other mikrotik 2.9.xx and 3.0rcxx versions !
When I change L2TP server settings on 3.0rc10 I lose some static VPN interface in PPP !!!

I have similar problems. I have an L2TP server setup that I'm using with the MS L2TP VPN client.

First connection is fine. Then, when the client disconnects the L2TP server is deleted.

I have to reboot the router and add the connection back in. Then I can connect once and the cycle is repeated.

Regards

Andrew

Edit: Version is rc10

I use IPSec tunnels between two locations tying 3 networks together.
I had 4 Sites.

I have learned over the years NOT to mix RouterOS versions on "Tied" sites.

When I upgrade ONE router, I upgrade them ALL.

I have tried to upgrade "independantly", it usualy does not work dependably.

Looks like I've sorted my problem. I was defining a static L2TP entry but the system was detecting it as dynamic and deleting it when the connection ended. Letting the system do it all fixes the problem.

Andrew

i think there are more problems than that though ...

12:40:30 l2tp,ppp,debug,packet l2tp-delmar: rcvd LCP TermReq id=0x2
12:40:30 l2tp,ppp,debug,packet Encryption got out of sync

something won't handshake between certain boxes... i have 3 out of 4 that work, one of the 4 just keeps connecting and disconnecting with the message above. i have other connections to that same vpn endpoint that work fine with rc10, so there is something definately weird going on.

I have problems with RC10 too.

I created a PPTP server to connect it from internet and when it starts to validate user/pwd the connection fails.
I can connect it from the LAN (I made it ok only one time)

I'm not lucky? or this is a bug?

I remember that my pptp interface dissapears from interfaces list when my connection were successful.

Thanks!

RC11, IPv6 not installed, Out of Sync errors on PPTP presist here... :(

EDIT:
Have a MT Client as a test now connecting to the MT RC11 Server for testing, the MT Client reports:
wrong MS-CHAPv2 response from peer

It disconnects every 60 to 120 seconds :(

This 'Encryption got out of sync' problem with IPv6 package is still broken in 3.13 and 3.16. Anyone using IPv6 package and L2TP you should check to make sure your actually encrypting traffic.
