Serious Problem

Thu Feb 03, 2005 10:35 am

Hi All i have posted before about my problem and i also read about it but didnt have a final solution.
I have internet connection the upload is from a isp and the download is through a satellite connection. I used them to be connected to a windows based pc and then connected as a back-to-back connection to a mikrotk server. everything concerning the configuration to the end users is perfect but i want to elemenate the windows station because i want to have another setup. my upload was through an ethernet since it is of a local provider. but my download is through sattelite and i used to have a penta@net dvb card on my windows pc. i need something to replace this card on mikrotik so any help pleaase.

again thanks a lot and i am searching for the solution as soon as possible i only have a week to change my networl setup thanks again to all

Not being an expert in satellite up/downlinks, I'll try to jump in:
You surely won't be able to use any DVB card in a RouterOS system. So as a consequence I'm quite sure you can't eliminate your Windows machine with the DVB card - at least not by replacing it with another MikroTik system.

There might be other Linux based systems which can replace the functionality you get/need from your Windows machine, but that's beyond my current knowledge...

what if you do this... get a couple of extra NIC's on ur box... the one you use for outgoing..(to ur local ISP) this will give you 3 NIC's for outgoing... seting up each one with one of those IPs... then just use load ballancing bettween them... that was you will get the most of them... you can route Chat from one http from another & so on.....
