Extend wifi

Hi, I'm experienced with mainstream routers and ddwrt/tomato but a complete newb to Mikrotik.

I've recently purchased a Hap ax2 at the recommendation of a friend, and am trying to extend wifi with no luck. Can somebody recommend a good guide?

Background: I have a wifi network with internet in my house (starlink fwiw). I'm trying to set up better connectivity at the shed. Starlink wifi singal strength is ok at the house end of the shed where the Hap ax2 will go, and want to use one radio for backhall and the other for clients at the shed to connect to. Hopefully this can be done from the one (hap ax2) device. Running cable not a viable option.

Thanks!

Hi, I did not test it for myself, but here might be an answer: There is a wizard button in the wireless menu labeled "setup repeater" that might do all for you. Maybe you need to stop the WIFI by disableing the WIFI-Interfaces first.

In the "Setup repeater" just type the SSID with password from your starlink fwiw - the router does all for itself:
- Setting up one station pseudobridge -> Receving the signal,
- and an AP bridge for transmitting the signal in this part of your house.

It might not be the best way, because it is just one radio for 2G and one for 5G, so it uses the same frequenz. Maybe another small AP might be better, so you can recieve on one frequenz, and send on an other frequenz. If you use 2G for receiving and 5G for sending, you seperated your WLAN enough.

But maybe I'm wrong, I didn't use this function yet.
