CCR2116 disappointing can't do >2gbps PPPOE, single CPU >95%

Hi, due to PPPOE being single threaded CCR2116 can't do more than >2gbps as PPPOE client, is there a way to make this process multi threaded or hardware offloaded?

Are you using ppp multilink /MLPPP/?

it's just a simple interface pppoe client

/interface pppoe-client

Misconfiguration of bridge/VLAN/L3 offloading is the likely cause, too many Linux DSA expert users in this forum:

Some common examples:

If the above don't apply to you, then it's likely the lack of RFC4638, read this:

Have you found a solution by any chance? I'm facing the same issue.

anyone found a solution using pppoe-client as WAN source and receiving 1gb+ bandwidth?

Ask your ISP to change your internet connection without PPPOE.

I have no problem with > 2Gbps and pppoe-client as WAN on a much weaker RB5009. The RB5009 CPU only clocks up to 1400MHz, while the CCR2116 can do 2000MHz so while PPPoE might be single threaded, the CCR2116 should have no problem.

Here I am testing with a test server from my ISP, but located in a city 2000km away. That server uses IPv6, no fasttrack in use:

As you can see, the RX rate on pppoe-out1 reached 2.2Gbps. Here another screenshot of the CPU load and frequency @ 2.2Gbps
