RB5009 offering DHCP leases to other switches

Tue Dec 05, 2023 1:51 am

I have several mikrotik switches.

Apparently i am seeing a large number of rapid DHCP offers to my other switches on the network.

Non of these have a configured DHCP client. Their addresses are configured manually.

what i get in the log is this...

dhcp_primary offering lease 192.168.0.5 for C4:AD:34:F4:36:4F without success

I get two of these for every other switch on the network. Everything is vlan 1 and untagged except the bridge interfaces

This list of offers seems to repeat every 5 seconds. No other device is having an issue receiving a DHCP lease.

All devices are running 7.12.1.

Have you identified the device? Is it yours? Silly question but valid.
If not, according to the mac it is also a Mikrotik and maybe that is running a DHCP client.

Regards.

Yes.

But that is only one of 5 devices that are all apparently being offered DHCP leases when no client appears to be configured.
In this case, MAC is that of the eth1 port on the switch.
