Speed throttling for Userman

Throttling features:
* Ability to assign rate limit for certain time of the day/week/month.
* Ability to assign rate limit after certain quota reached.

Will these EVER be available for Mikrotik Userman? If yes, is there an approximated time-line for release?
Please also comment if you find/will find these features useful!

The particular features are planned for the User-Manager in the future.
I do not have information (precise date), when these features will be available.

Hi sergejs,

Any update for these features .. we are looking to use them soon, adding wiki scripts for the same purpose are not working for hotspot and dynamic Queues like the dynamicaly created by Hotspot.

This would allow us to provide better service for the lite users and keeping the heavy users connected with lower degraded speed after consuming the allowed bandwidth for x interval of time.

we are terribly looking for these features to be added.

hey, have you posted the script on wiki yet? i am very interested to get a script like that.

i am trying to implement quota management for peek/off-peek + shaping after the user exceeded his quota.

User-manager has a throttling system using rx/tx limits... Just not the time/day stuff you where referring to. Just being curious but how does the throttling/bursting work with user-manager? I am using a full User-manager based system no other radius system. Right now im using queue's do to not using mikrotik CPE units. But that is soon to change around to all mikrotik equipment. If not is it just best to limit the connection with the CPE unit? just wondering what would be best. Tx/Rx limiting does not use much CPU as far as i have been told. -Jordan

Dear thinair, did you finally post your speed throttling scripts to the wiki ?

What we wanted to do is the following:
- Users have a monthly download limit assigned
- When a month accumulated download size reaches 80% of this limit, an e-mail is sent to the user
- When a month accumulated download size reaches the monthly limit, the download speed is reduced
- When month ends, download speed is restarted to the user original value
