[Ask] IP PROXY & WEB-PROXY

Mon Dec 24, 2007 10:27 am

Hello everybody! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Here I'm asking for your opinion on IP PROXY & WEB-PROXY. I've been running my WEB-PROXY, but I see that there's no significant change. On the other hand, when mirc cannot run as usual and always gets banned by the mirc servers.

By the way, I haven't tried the IP PROXY. Would you like to tell me the differences of IP PROXY and WEB-PROXY? Explanations in detailed answered certainly should be much more helpful for me as a newbee :)

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,
djohan.

Web-proxy is the old proxy that was used in earlier version of RouterOS
IP-proxy is the new MikroTik proxy that we have made entirely on our own.

I don't think MIRC uses proxy at all, so probably your problem lies elsewhere. Proxy is only for HTTP traffic.

normis, why your team create IP\Proxy? So, does IP Proxy better than IP\Web-Proxy? What is the advantages of using IP\Proxy?
How about web-proxy-test?

thanks..

I think I already explained it in the previous post. Yes, IP proxy is better because it is faster and we were able to make our own improvements/fixes without relying on a 3rd party product.
