Mikrotik AP on 48V PoE system

Thu Aug 22, 2024 11:33 am

Hello,

i need to get a new preferrably Mikrotik AP, something with big antenna. It will be used in a 48V PoE setup. I am currently looking at MANTbox or NetMetal, but they accept only up to 30V PoE power. Does anyone have any recommendation for a suitable device or a suitable PoE adapter/converter/how-do-you-call-it?

I need 48V in that setup as it has to power BomeBox and L009UiGS. I currently use wAP ac which accepts 48V but I'm having some problems with which I hope to solve with a stronger antenna.

Problems: I use this access point on my mixing console, to allow musicians to connect with their phones and adjust their monitors. During soundcheck in an empty venue usually everything is fine, but when the meatshield aka audience arrives musicians' phones can not connect anymore. Especially iPhones. I have used some venues' MANbox'es sometimes and there I don't get this issue, hence I think my upgrade would solve it. If, by chance, anyone has advice how to set the wAP ac smarter so it works, please share.

Thanks! ,)
