Mini-PCI Card Embedded Module - HSDPA/UMTS - support RBoard

Hi, Mikrotik/Routerboard team,

i read from http://www.novatelwireless.com/products ... u870d.html

is it support if use on Routerboard ?

because i'm waiting RB21, not released yet. .. :(

It's supported, but the adapter is not out yet.

the following have drivers in one of the upcoming versions:
Novatel EU870
Novatel Merlin XU870 HSDPA/3G
Novatel EV620 CDMA/EV-DO
Novatel Merlin ES620 / Merlin ES720 / Ovation U720
Novatel Merlin ES620 SM Bus
Novatel EU740

What is RB21 anyway... cant find it on routerboard website nor from the search engine....

In case the minipci hsdpa will be supported where will be put the telephone sim-card ?

exactly that is the problem of these adapters. we will also eventually release an adapter with a SIM card slot. RB800 won't be out until late this year. We just released a whole lot of new products already

Hi Normis,

This will best thing by my view to happen this year. Mikrotik that support SIM, 3G etc will be allow us have major inroads in that market; there are lots of solutions to sell based on this capability when added in Mikrotik. MikroTik is the best OS to work with; well that is just my personal view.

Is the mini-pcie cards from novatel usb based.. it seems like nobody knows about the pinout of the novatels?

Novatel makes both USB based and mini PCI-E based cards. (Two different cards.)

Hi,
I'm using ALIX 6 with miniPCI-e socket and routeros 3.13 in CF.
I plug in the NOVATEL EU870D but routeros doesn't list it in the ports!!

Anyone can help?

Could this minipci to minipcie adapter with sim card slot be used instead or in the absence of rb21 ?

To me it seems to be a nice solution for 3g (umts/edge) cards from f.ex option or novatel.

any one knows of any mini-pci cards or are there only express cards
if some one has tried can they share their experience and results
also if someone could please let me know any reseller from where I can buy these cards
