Issues with running CHR 7.15.3 ARM64 .vdi with VirtualBox 7.1 on Apple Silicon

Hi all,
Just picked up an M3 MacBook Air and wanted to try CHR on VirtualBox 7.1 on MacOS. I have gotten CHR running fine on virtualbox 7.1 on my Windows PC. My purpose of using Virtualbox and CHR is for a school lab assignment. As expected, CHR booted up fine in VirtualBox for Windows on my x86 based CPU. But I am running into issues with bootlooping when trying to replicate on my Mac.
I am setting up the VM as a new appliance. I am attaching the AARCH64 .vdi downloaded from the MikroTik downloads, version 7.15.3. When I go to run the VM, the VM will boot up to the point of showing these three lines in the console:
efi stub: booting into linux kernel...
efi stub: using DTB from configuration table
efi stub: exiting boot services and installing virtual address map
It will then proceed to boot loop until I shut the VM down.
Does anyone have any idea as to what this may be? Thanks in advance
