hEX S - no pppoe servers after power outage

Hello,
We have "hEX S" which worked great until yesterday.
We have pppoe-client on eth1 for internet access via ethernet cable.
Yesterday I did UPS maintenance which did not end well and UPS sparked after power restore. It seems UPS charging circuit is damaged but it works - no power loss over the whole incident. ethernet cable is protected via same UPS.
I turned off UPS to check if it will fix the charging issue - no.
ANYWAY .. Mikrotik was working just fine until power shutdown. All ports are working and there is LINK OK on eth1.
However pppoe-client is not working at all. I used pppoe scan tool to search for servers and it see non.
I was able to use laptop to connect on same cable it worked just fine.
Right now we are using regular old tp-link which works too and patch the issue temporarily.
I did reset the Mikrotik and searched for pppoe servers but again .. nothing.
I tested different power supply but again nothing changed.
I tested upstream ethernet cable on all ports without success.
It seems that UPS shutdown which cut Mikrotik power is related to issue OR the spark before it however I don't see why ...
Does anyone have any clue what to test or had similar experience ?
