I was trying to figure out exactly what settings on The Dude client was creating network and traffic thought it might be the default polling schedule that all my devices use.

Then I realized multiple instances of devices under the left hand side tree selection: DEVICES.

It appears that a copy of the device is created for each map that includes that device.

Is there a better way to set this up? It would be nice if the DEVICES list contained only 1 instance for any 1 device.

For example, all of these instances refer to a single device (with IP addresses of 192.168.30.2 and 10.10.100.30:

Well, I am posting right now from an XP originally installed in 2008 (and Service Pack2, with a few tricks to make some apps that *need* SP3 believe it is Service Pack 3), but I don't think it is common nowadays, I believe I am one of the last of a dying breed, people running Vista or 7 are already considered hard core "survivors".
