Content filter - best solution

Fri Feb 08, 2008 5:54 pm

Hi All,

I would be interested on how you set a content filter in your system at home, busines,..?

The install is as follow:

Mainline is coming in the flat, going in a Router and then the Mikrotik Router which I use for Hotspot

Is it better to put all Filters and Firewall on the Router which connects the mainline back to put down the load balance from the Mikrotik Router? So the Mikrotik Router can do its job for authentication

Or doesnt it matter at all? Does anybody also know an public filter which I can use rather than putting all sites by myslef in the filter?

Thanks,
Chris

Buy a Fortigate 60B for around US$450 it has category based filtering, that is kept up to date. I am using it on sites with 3000 users (albeit a much larger FortiGate device) and it works great.
