RB600 --- Power issue !!! Warning

Fri Feb 08, 2008 6:33 pm

Today we install this board in production... we can´t power the board from POE, the board seems don´t know where the power comes....

When the board was powered from the ethernet port: none of the leds blink or start up. On several tries, all the leds blink and no start up the board... (the power supply seems to be ok, It powered a 532A without problems).

When the board was powered from the dc jack: It runs without problems... (Same power supply).

Power supply, 48v 1A, setup (XR5, SR2, RH52)

There is any issue about powering???, or some rule about to take on mind before...?????
Comments....???

cat.6 is more thik and cooper integral. The power loss is lower than the cat.5. I have PoE on 160m on that type of cable.Maybe RB600 need more power than 532 and the power loss is proportional with the power consume.

Why don't you send the power up through a length of LMR400.
If your in a pinch, you have to do what you KNOW will work.

the PoE for Rb600 needs to be 48V, is it? It supports 38..56V DC

yes. You missed the PoE standard.
You need 48v 30w Power Adapter + Power plug for RB230, RB532, RB600 (Europe, UK, US available).
