Hi All,

we are trying to reinstall routeros on RB133C using netinstall / ethenet boot to reset lost password

we have connected the RB133C boards to pc via ethernet and console cable

we have also changed the boot to ethernet (172.16.0.10 default interface IP) option in console

follwing is the screen shot after reboot

we have also assigned boot server ip to 172.16.0.6

we are also able to see the board in netinstall but not able to install + the netinstall does not generate an ip to board have also attached the screen shot of netisntall

when we press the install button (ver 3.2 to be loded) nothing happenes

the current version of RB133C is 2.9.38

We did select ver 3.2 in packages (quite obvious). Even then the install doesn’t works. Moment we press the install button the install button is disable for few seconds (as if it’s installing) but then there is no process display in HyperTerminal even when we reboot the board the previous version exists.

OK, Having almost the same problem. Also tried a single (system) package, tried the combined package, tried v2.9.49, tried 3.2 nothing..... :(

But the terminal (console) screens shows the rb's harddisk is beeing formatted and that takes about 1,5 full minute whereafter the terminal shows:

FATAL ERROR: bad network connection
Press ENTER to reboot

In the Installer the action bar shows ¨partitioning and formatting¨ for 10 secs and then ¨Transferring routeros.....¨etc
After a minute or two it changes in ¨Installation failed. No responce from router, timeout.¨

We can reboot now but just the same happens. The network can´t be bad since the rb is starting up over it, cables are in normal network use too, a smartswitch with no other networks connected and all other hardware involved normally works fine in all kind of other network traffic.

What is happening here?
The board actually went ´dead´ after a wireless initiated upgrade from ros v2.9.49 to v.3.0

In the console I already formatted the nand, and did a memory test, all is fine.

Yea, by disabling all firewalls and antiviruses. Try to do the same thing on clean winXP with disabled firewall - no problems.
