Seperate Wireless Users

Fri Feb 22, 2008 9:05 pm

Hi All,

I have the RB333 and would like to seperate Users on the wireless path

In some other Access Gateway vendors I saw an option to put every user on a seperat "VLAN", so nobody can se each other.

Is this with the RB333 and the wireless card (top right of this window, R52) possible? What would be the command or option in WinBox for this?

PS: I know its not a "VLAN" but would best descripe it. Is there a technical name for this technique?

Thanks,
Chris

Greetings!

This should isolate all users on the wireless interface:
/interface wireless set X default-forwarding=no
Change X to the wireless interface number on which you want the clients isolated.

If you want some isolated and some not, then I would recommend setting up a VAP (Virtual Access Point) on the same interface. It is covered in the docs. You should be able to isolate clients on one and allow communication on the other.

Hai frens,
no, if you put X as number, you must command print first with CLI.
i think X is name of your wireless interface name, isn't it...
e.g:
/in wire set wlan1 default-forwarding=no
or uncheck default-forwarding on winbox GUI

Well, yes! I presume some familiarity with the OS if he/she is this far along.
...and wlan1 will only work if he/she did not rename the interface.
