Hello all,

I have a question that fits best into routerboard.com fórum but this is not working for new users so I decided to post here.

The question is about the hardware itself. I have a small ISP and I am working with 8 Mbps frame-relay backbone (that comes from a telco). Now I have a fiber caming into my ISP and I have a fiber modem that has fast-ethernet output so I can use Mikrotik RouterOS to route my network.

My question is... Can this RB150 route my network? I just want to make a small QoS system (basead on ports of connection like 80, 53, 443, 25, 110) and some static routes. Can I make this happens using this routerboard?

Waiting for replies.

The 150 is a SOHO router without any real performance when you begin shaping etc. The price for a bigger and much better board as the RB333 or RB600 is almost nothing compared to what you get for the money and much less worries :-) I wouldn't build my ISP business on a RB150 :-)

Hi,

8MBit is no problem for this board. So it's enough to do the job.
If you want to buy something for the future I would go for a
faster board. RB1000 has Gigalinks and is still affordable.
