PPPoE Server - Dropping packges when client connect/disconne

Fri Apr 04, 2008 8:27 pm

Hello all,

Today I received an information that when a client connect/disconnect into Mikrotik PPPoE Server the other clients gets a package loss. I have made some tests and this is correct. Let me explain what I have done:

1) I have a full PPPoE Server running with an average user connect about 100 clients.

2) I put a Linux box to ping into a PPPoE client that is connected to MK PPPoE Server with 1024 bytes size.

3) When a client connect or disconnects from MK PPPoE server my ping loses one package.

This is realy anoying becouse when a client trys to use VoIP, for example, this problem cames to be a pain...

Can someone help me?

Actualy I think this is a problem into RouterOS system becouse untill version 2.9.51 this problem do not happens... Waiting for instructions.

Hi, this problem was reported on PPPoE poor performance topic and Mikrotik team is working to solve it. We are waiting for version 3.7 for the fix.
