Thu Mar 10, 2005 10:49 am

Pls someone help me where the problem is,

I have been having problem since I upgraded to 2.8.22. The system crashed everytime I was around. I upgraded, I changed all possible hardware but it remained the same. Just recently I found out that only when I use winbox, then after sometimes system crashes. I have the latest upgrade 2.18.25. Please if anyone knows whats wrong with winbox pls share the info with me.

Thanks

Did you download a current winbox.exe from the current (2.8.25) routers' webpage?

Yes I have tried that but the problem is, there is no newer version of winbox. The version that I had was 2.0.8 and it is still the same version.

What version of Windows are you running with Winbox? Any chance it's XP w/ SP2?

One thing you can try is to delete all of the winbox plugins and redownload them...they are in your local settings -> application data -> Mikrotik IIRC.

you may want to try it from somewhere else. also check all firewalls (mostly the SP2 firewall causes problems, better turn it off. is of no good anyway), then check router's firewall, ip services, upgrade, etc. i have never had any problems with XP/SP2 and winbox.

We have 3 different machines now that we can't use with winbox...all 3 screw up the active users in the hotspot. 2 are XP SP2 and 1 is 2003 Server.

I am running winbox from 2 machines redhat 9 and 2 machines winxp sp2 all of them crash the system. I believe this has to do with winbox itself or and MT os. This never happened before until upgrade from 2.8.16.

Please tell me what I have to do on MT firewall? There is no changes that I have made since 2.8.16

Are you guys adding comments to the queues you add? Apparently this is what messes up the hotspot module when adding users.
