Telnet Source Address in 3.6

Tue Apr 22, 2008 6:20 pm

Can someone explain why in 3.6 it is no longer possible to specify a source address for telnet connections?

You can still do it.
[demo@demo.mt.lv] /ip service> print
Flags: X - disabled, I - invalid
 # NAME PORT ADDRESS
 0 telnet 23 0.0.0.0/0
 1 ftp 21 0.0.0.0/0
 2 www 80 0.0.0.0/0
 3 ssh 22 0.0.0.0/0
 4 X www-ssl 443 0.0.0.0/0
 5 X api 8728 0.0.0.0/0
 6 winbox 8291 0.0.0.0/0
[demo@demo.mt.lv] /ip service>
if you mean restricting telnet connection to the router from one IP. if you mean something else, clarify

ya.. that would help!

They way it was asked, it looked like he wanted to source his telnet session from one of the IPS of the router. Kinda like you can do with Pings.
