Mikrotik's wiki search function

Fri Jul 04, 2008 8:09 pm

I feel very bad, 'cause this is my first post here and the question is quite silly... but it's true, so let's go on. ;)

Every search I do in http://wiki.mikrotik.com/ using the "Search" field, ends on an error page like this (http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Special:S ... ch=bonding):
No such special page
From MikroTik Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

You have requested an invalid special page, a list of valid special pages may be found at special pages list.

Return to Main Page.
For example, I simply write "bonding" in the search field an press enter.
...what am I missing? :o

I can solve the problem googling "site:wiki.mikrotik.com bonding", but ... to know if it's a PEBKAC thing or not, that would be great. :D

I've also noticed that recently. I used to be able to search, but no longer.

So it's not just you :-)

when you are going to search, do not push 'enter' after you etner phrase you are searching, also, search is case sensitive, so, if you are looking for "bonding" try to write "Bond" and wait for a moment.

so, works for me.

at least on Ubuntu Hardy, using Firefox 3.0

yes, it's just the "search button" that doesn't work. just type your phrase and WAIT

Well bend me over and call me Bob, it works! Counter intuitive isn't it? Certainly wikipedia.org doesn't work like this.

It's almost instinct nowadays to press 'enter'.

Anyway, thanks for pointing this out.

Wow, what technology can do nowadays: search results without pressing ENTER! :)
Thanks everybody!

But... how can I find this article, for instance, using that search?

http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Delete_AR ... _arp_table

Yes, I know it's listed in http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Scripts page; what I want to point is, if possible, it should be more useful to get search results by article's title and/or body contents, instead of article's case-sensitive-never-know-which-word-comes-first article title/name.

BTW, mine is just a suggestion to boost an already great thing: thanks again, and keep up doing your work.
