How do I bridge like this?

Mon Jul 14, 2008 8:14 pm

I have a mobile client that roams from the top tower (see pic) The tower will DHCP an address depending on which radio your on. I my mobile client a rb500 to get an address from the tower via it's wireless card and basically make an ethernet bridge to selected ethernet ports. How would I do this?

Thanks for your help

the "board" usually likes simple, short questions :) you could try hiring one of our consultants to make your setup:

How fast the roaming should be?
I would recommend to use one dhcp server on that tower, bridge every AP together and use one IP subnet, as when your client will roam it will get a new IP address from the other radio and it could break the communication.
So use bridge, and use WDS mode on the client to bridge wireless with ethernet.

You can only use 1 IP address and 1 gateway on a mobile network for proper handoff from one tower to the next, give me a little more information about your network, how many mobile clients, fixed clients etc... I would be happy to engineer a solution for you.

Thanks
