Expanding subnet

Hello,

I currently have a subnet of 192.168.20.0/24 on the router and I'd like to span my networks dhcp pool, hosted on another server, from 20.0 to 21.0, (192.168.20.0/23) however I am not sure how to modify this in mikrotik and still have access to the mikrotik server. If a dhcp address of .21.x is assigned to a workstation and the router's gateway address is .20.1, will the 21.x addresses be routed correctly?

Any advice is most welcome.

Thank you,

James

The new subnet will be 192.168.20.0/23 and NOT 192.168.21.0/23

So in other words the range will be 192.168.20.1 - 192.168.21.254

So you need to assign the subnet mask of 255.255.254.0 (or/23) to every NIC that is on the LAN, including the router. Then they will all talk to each other.
