I wondered if someone could provide a few details on what the risk is, given the following statement in the RouterOS manual under 'PPPoE Server Setup':

Security issue: do not assign an IP address to the Interface you will be receiving the PPPoE requests on.

if your PPPoE server has an IP, and one of the users sets an IP of the same network on his interface - he has access to your network without PPPoE authentication. If you want to enforce PPPoE for everyone, don't assign an IP on that PPPoE interface
