I am planning on using my RB433 as a redundancy server and hotspot gateway. My one question is, do I need to do any special configuration to make sure that if one of the 2 internet connections goes down, the RB433 will know to not send traffic out a specific interface?

i.e. setup an autoping of some sort, to the default gateway and say one of the verizon DNS servers. if pings to both of those fail 3 times in a minute (or something along those lines), it will stop sending traffic out that interface, and will then start sending traffic out that interface again once it's able to ping those destinations?

Well yes you will have to setup some scripts and mangle rules so your scripts will ping a specific host through a specific gateway (one of your data lines). And if the ping fails x times in y seconds/minutes then disable that route....

I did some scripts and such for " WirelessRudy " a while back...you may want to look him up here on the forum and see if he still has them...they would be a good starting place for your scripts. There are also a couple of wiki articles on this very subject.
