/tool e-mail

Mon Sep 22, 2008 11:56 pm

Are there plans to support secure e-mail? My server requires SSL for email. I have no desire to have a open relay or unencrypted email credentials.

Ahh my misunderstanding of the documentation where it says

"Summary
E-Mail client tool is used for sending e-mail messages from the router."

I will gladly write a ssl capable email client for MT. I have wrote a few already for quick secure emails, I am sure I could port one to MT. Is there a devel kit or such that needs to be purchased or licensed in order to produce packages for MT?

no, there isn't. the email tool is meant for really simple tasks, like sending you the backup file. therefore, you should make a tunnel to a simple mailserver, or open up your SMTP's firewall just for the ROS.

Hi

You can resolve the problem by using a smtp proxy to act as a relay, e.g. Sambar Server.

I had the same problem I resolved it with Sambar Server.
