password with line break problem

Hi!

I got a big mistake, I copy paste from a notepad to a 3.x mikrotik winbox my admin password, and after I couldn't login to the router any more, I realized that, if I also copy my password another router, it's to more * characters, that my password is.

Than I copy it back to notepad, and I see, that there's a newline after my password.

But when I copy it to the winbox login, I got the same character that my password is.

Is it possible, to take a line break (i think that is the 2 more character after my good password) in winbox somehow, or to get in to the router?

Thank you.

hmm

If you have backup of the configuration - connect null modem cable and use hyper terminal to:
- format the nand
- boot this routerboard not from nand but from ethernet (you have to change boot option)
- reinstall RouterOS with netinstall

- after this change boot options to boot from nand

When RouterOS will boot after installation You should have default configuration and login: admin and empty password :)

you don't need to do so many things to reset a routerboard. just short-circuit the reset-jumper and boot it, it will clear everything to defaults.
