third party CPE ?

Wed Dec 17, 2008 8:43 am

hello..

a wisp always feel concern about CPE (low cost yet optimum)
we can install good base station by adding sectors to Mikrotik AP and good wireless card.
but having such a powerful base station if we fail to install correct CPE. moreover its not possible to install mikrotik at all clients.

so plz share ur views on this...

is it a good idea to use Deliberant CPE 2-12,Deliberant CPE 2-15 can it work good with mikrotik?

The previous Deliberant line (2100,2500,2700 with Realtek chipsets) linked up OK with our MT AP using an R52, but disconnect-reconnects were frequent. Throughput and retrans rates were fine.
I'm about to test some CPE 2-12s with the Atheros chipsets.
I'll report back.

because
1- its not cheap
2- it useless of you dont need routing on customers side
3- But I would use it if MK and Nano pricematch.

For 2.4 GHz stuff, I like the PS2. The NS2 and NS2L pick up too much noise for my liking.
For high speed links, routerboard + rootenna + MK or UBNT radio.

I use UBNT product almost exclusivelly. I have been using PS5s / bullet 5s for long range shots and NS5s for closer range shots. I have a community were Im using ruckus wireless indoor units, but that is an exception to the rule. I have very few problems with UBNT (the polarization issues with the NS for example) but in general, very good performance for very little money. For the towers, router boards with XR5s.
