RB433+XR5+5ghz wide-band 2foot parabolic dish on each side will give you approx. 30mbps of HDX, TCP throughput on a 20mhz wide channel. I suggest a wide-band 5ghz dish so that if you get the custom frequency license you'll be able to run on any channel in the 5ghz band (in case you run into interference or want to run a 40mhz/turbo channel for additional throughput).

would a grid antenna of 27 dbi work in place of the antennas, and if using the parabolic dishes what would be the gain of the antennas?

I have tried many modules and XR2, XR5 are the best performance modules in almost any condition in realtime.

I guess you have not compared them to R5H yet ... It has better receive sensitivity which gives it the better results in the end

You should definitely try the R2H, best buck/performance.
