Cisco ACS and "The Dude".

Sat Jan 10, 2009 3:06 pm

Hi there,

we had problems witch Cisco ACS. The only way to solve the problem was to close down "The Dude". It seemed that "The Dude" was constantly trying to set up telnet sessions witch the Cisco switches and Cisco ACS got fed up with that. ;)
Any solutions for this?

Regards,
Mario.

I had a similar problem.

Generally this happened because on discover settings, the telnet service was set to be discovered; all you need for new devices to be discovered is to choose not to discover the telnet service.

If the telnet service is discovered on some device, it will automatically will be set to be monitored.

To stop dude from monitoring the telnet service on the device, choose the Service view, and from the top selection boxes select the telnet service (on all maps or selected maps)

Select all the devices that need to remove the telnet service from, then delete the service.
