Hi all,
If this has been covered somewhere and I'm missing it, please accept my apologies, forgive my terrible search abilities, and point me in the right direction.
I've just switched from using Nagios and Centreon to using the Dude for most of my network monitoring, and I'm looking for a feature that I cannot seem to find.
In Nagios, if you want to monitor a service on a Windows server that does not have an open TCP/UDP port, you install an agent package on the server. Then using the agent you can monitor these services. Does Dude have a similar function?
For a practical example: I use BackupExec to back up all of our servers. BackupExec Agent is loaded on each of the slave servers, and the master server has the full BackupExec package. If the Agent service on a given server is down, then my backup for that server fails. If the BackupExec Job Engine service on the master server is down, then none of my backups work. The Agent service I believe listens on a TCP port, so that's easy. But the Job Engine and related services on the master server does not have an open, listening port. Is there a way to monitor this (and similar) services?
Thanks in Advance!
