Ping Local Problem

I am running Dude 3.1 on my windows vista computer.
The ping command inside of Dude does NOT work. It says it is a "Local Problem"
Ping from the command line works just fine.
Any ideas?
P.S. I did search the forum and did not find the answer to my problem.

More information:
If I right-click on one of my devices on the network map and select tools, ping
the "from" defaults to server and ping will fail.
If I change the "from" to local, then everything works.
Looking at the probe "Ping", the only choices for agent are "default" and "server". No "local"????

Posting the same question multiple times will not help get an answer faster. Maybe no one knows or the right person who DOES knows the answer only visits the forum every few days or once a week?
I suggest you look for the answer within Vista's UAC or firewall settings?

Actually I did turn off Windows firewall and antivius "Windows OneCare Live"
And, the forum topic on "custom" probes and built-in probes don't seem that far apart.
Looking thru the forums I found the "local problem" error message several places and
never did find an "solution" posted.

I suspect UAC is blocking The Dude from pinging. Have you tried turning off UAC?

Hi all.
I resolve this problem in Windows 7 executing The Dude program like administrator.
Under de Program "Left Click -> Run Like Adminitrator".
Good Luck.
